American Idol

Okay. I admit it. I’ve been watching this season. That’s right–after a two year hiatus, I skipped the awful first rounds and started watching once they were actually phone elimination rounds. Hey–with all the snow we’ve been getting, I had to start doing something to pass time. Especially since I’ve been working on stamping, addressing and sealing 1,000 newsletters. Got to keep the mind moving somehow. And this year, I’ve been enjoying the performances for the most part. Very glad that Danny kid left last week. Think that Kristy girl should go. Eight Days a Week sung as a Country Jamboree song? What was the girl thinking?

One show that I don’t have to confess loving is Lost. I’ll proclaim this love from the rooftops if I have to. This season’s been incredible. That Desmond episode a few weeks ago was one of the best hours of television I’ve ever seen.

Other television I watch right now: Mythbusters (loved the MacGuyver episode a bit ago) and a bit of Jeopardy every now and then. Really I’m more of a movie man. I ought to write more reviews of the films I watch. Just in the past week or so I watched Patton, In the Heat of the Night, Mutiny on the Bounty, Master and Commander, Better Off Dead, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe . . . those are the ones that stand out in my mind at the moment. I’m a sucker for John Cusack movies. Maybe I’ll start giving at least an update on what I watch, as I watch it. Gotta love the pop culture.
