Things that Pain Me

Yeah. I’m having a hurting day. For starters, I’ve got this canker in my mouth that’s making it painful to even talk. I know that might be Too Much Information, but it’s totally bumming me out. Then to make matters worse, I’ve had a sinus headache for the past couple of days, and it’s getting worse. No fun. So I’m feeling all around kind of achy today.

Other things that irritate me, but don’t necessarily pain me:

People trying to con libraries: I don’t know if you know, but most public libraries will allow patrons (that’s you) to make suggestions for the libraries to purchase. We try to be accommodating. Well lately, it seems like publishers/authors have found out about this. There’s now a rash of emails going out to libraries requesting that they buy such and such obscure book, claiming that they’re a patron, blah blah blah. The thing is, librarians talk to each other. We’re not totally clueless. And so word gets out about these sort of things. I think it’s underhanded and annoying, and I wish people wouldn’t do it. Grr.

NCAA Tournament: What’s up with all four number ones making it to the final four. Talk about boring. Although if North Carolina wins it all, then I win my brackets. Which would be cool. If they don’t, then I don’t, which would be sad.

Gas prices: Enough already. I’ve decided that I’m going to build a car that runs by combusting dollar bills. It’ll be so much more economical, and easier to compute how much it costs per mile to drive somewhere.

Other things you might like an update on:

Finished reading a book over the weekend: The Taking of Pelham One Two Three. Fantastic heist book. I really enjoyed it. It’s a genre I have little to no experience reading, and I’ve been having a lot of fun catching up on the best of the best in it. Highly recommended.

And that’s all my head will allow me to type right now. Farewell.

  1. Heist books sound fun! Reminds me of the two confidence books I’ve read: Melville’s The Confidence Man and Somebody Klein’s Con Ed. Anyway, hahahaha about the writers trying to con the libraries! Oh, so funny!
