It’s traditional for returned missionaries to give a talk in their home church when they come back from their missions. Back in the day, it was usually just a long talk about what they did on their mission, though these days it’s customary to have it be on some sort of a theme (probably to avoid long travelogues). This Sunday (12/8), Tomas will be giving his. Not only that, but I’ve been asked to speak as well. (Topic? 15 minutes on “How I can use the priesthood to bless the lives of others.” Which sounds like an easy enough topic, but it’s been pretty interesting for me to address so far.) Tomas will follow me, speaking for around 20 minutes.
So if that’s something you’d like to hear, you can come see it in person at 9:30am on Sunday at our local congregation. It’s at 141 Perham Heights Dr in Farmington. (For some reason, the street sign says Woodfield Drive in person. Google Maps disagrees.)
If you live afar or can’t make it, it’s also going to be on Zoom. And would ya know it? I’ve got the link for you right here: https://zoom.us/j/7070366363?pwd=XJja3WKTBwEVkuEOXNf4OEXrDuVFbe.1 The meeting starts at 9:30, but talks won’t begin until about 9:50am or so. (Eastern time) If you come on and the screen is black and there’s no sound, know that they pause both during the Sacrament, so just hang tight.
As usual, I’ll post my talk here after I give it. I don’t think Tomas is writing his out in advance, though.
In any case, I hope to see you there.
