Well, Friday didn’t quite go according to plan. Daniela got in an accident. It was big enough that the airbags deployed and EMTs came to the scene, but thankfully no one was injured. We did have Daniela taken to the hospital, as there was a bit of uncertainty about whether or not she blacked out. She had a CT scan and X-rays and they all came back clean, so that’s a huge relief. She woke up the next day sore, but other than that it seems like we got out of things cleanly from a health perspective.
From a car perspective? Not so much.
It was the brand new Civic. The one I spent hours and hours trying to figure out what to buy/do about a little less than a year ago. I was super happy with the car, and I felt like we’d gotten a really good deal on it. I was also very relieved we’d gotten all of that done before all this nonsense with the tariffs took off.
Now? Well, let’s just say that most people who’ve seen the car are saying it’s more like than not that we end up having to go car shopping again soon. I’ve poked around online enough to see that I’d really rather avoid that, but unfortunately that decision isn’t up to me. Either the car is fixable (in which case who knows how long it’ll take to get it repaired) or it’s not (in which case it’s time to go car hunting again).
One thing at a time. For now, I’m focused on the fact that Daniela is okay and no one is hurt.
