Daniela Mission Update: MTC Week #2

Hello all!!!

The MTC is not at all what I thought it would be. It’s like hanging out with the funniest but also most spiritual people all day and then also I get to learn Slovak. But each week I do get sooo excited to actually be in the country.

I’m so grateful for my districts and teachers and all the people at home supporting me and sending me emails. Thatssss what makes this feel so easy.

Highlights of this week:

♡ we were pretending to street contact other missionaries around us and Sister Kruger and I got to street contact a pair of elders who were learning Chinese. So she was translating what I was saying in English while one of the elders spoke at me in Chinese and his companion translated it back to English for me.

♡ we’ve been playing lots of pickle ball, ping pong anddd a little chess though I fear I’m not holding my own too well.

♡ my wonderful teacher Sister Bartschi has moved on from the MTC after 1.5 years to go get married and start her masters progam!!! It was a sad goodbye for all of us but I am so happy for her 🙂

♡ only 1 plank had to be done this week for being late and I did not suffer any push ups… though two of the elders in my district did end up serving their time.

♡ every P-Day we all get to go to the temple together which doessss take up some of my emailing and laundry time but I couldn’t be more grateful.

♡ we got to call a member from Slovakia to practice our Slovak teaching!! His name is Brano and I’m so excited to someday meet him!

♡ I got to play some ukulele and cello!! playing music brings me so much comfort. Sestra Dribnak played “Vienna” by Billie Joel and it was just sooo peak.

♡ Sestra Kruger and I have the honor of teaching this really cool guy named Jalen for our “Helping Others Appointments” where we get to practice teaching AT the MTC with members and non-members. He brings an incredible spirit and we are so glad we have so many weeks to continue along with him on his journey of faith!! The only sad part is we can’t attend church with him buttt we know he’s doing great with all his friends supporting him.

♡ all the elders are getting sick.. BUT I AM HOLDING STRONG WOO!!!

♡ looking through Sister Bartschi’s google photos from her mission and boom “THATS MY BROTHER!?!?!?” kinda cool to be walking the path that he did and to know that others have come before me. We also had a little culture moment about Slovakia’s history and it just means so much more knowing these are MY ancestors. Thank you mommy for having SO much aura you went to BYU and thank you dad for being so slick n asking her out. As I have said before, my genes are goated.

Now, farm town peeps good job holding down the fort, and to my friends moving into college right now heck yeah!!! Go get em champ!

I love you all, I love this work and I love the lord :)))

K bye.
