It’s still early days yet, but the plan at the moment is to finally head down to Disney World again this summer. This would be the first time we’ve been since . . . 2017? Ever since our 2020 trip was canceled for 2020 reasons, I just haven’t had the chance to go back.
I would like to go to Universal and Disney, and I’d ideally like to not break the bank doing it, though I don’t know how realistic that is. I know a lot of you, my friends, do Orlando fairly regularly, however, and so it would be great if I could crowdsource this a bit. I’ll tell you what I’d like to do in a perfect world, and if you could fill me in on any good tips to do it, that would be greatly appreciated. It’ll have been 8 years since I’ve been, and planning one of these can take a lot out of you.
So. Here are the goals:
- One day in each park (Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and Epic Universe.)
- We will be going in July. Yes, I realize this is an asinine time to go. No, I can’t go at a different time. Once you get kids of a certain age, your windows for a family vacation become very limited. I understand that it will be more expensive because of this. It’s unavoidable, however.
- I don’t want to spend forever in lines, and I’m willing to pay some to avoid that. Of course, I’d rather not pay for just kicks and giggles. Back when I went before, there were Touring Plans you could use that would really help you cut down the times.
- I want to ride on all of the big rides once, especially newer rides that I haven’t been on yet
- I’d like to eat at nice places, but really just one big meal per day.
- I’d like to stay somewhere close enough so that if some of the fam wants to head back to the hotel for a break and still make it back to the park, they can. This likely means no rental car.
And that’s it, I think. If there are other questions I should be answering, I’m happy to do so. Any and all advice is appreciated, including particular websites to go to or deals to look out for. (Though deals in July? I’m skeptical there will be any.)
Thanks in advance
