Media Diet for 3.25.25

So much of my time these days is taken up working on this iOS app that I’m not doing much in the way of watching or playing other things. On the one hand, that’s good, right? I mean, the reason I’m not doing anything else is because I really enjoy working on the app. On the other hand, I don’t have anything to show for it, and until I actually finish it, there’s no way of really knowing if any of it’s been worth my while or not. Then again, that’s not really the attitude I’m having on the project. It’s an experiment and a hobby. I’m not doing it to make money or become the world’s greatest coder. I’m doing it to get more experience with AI, with coding, and (honestly) just to have fun.

I guess it’s strange I find it fun, but there you have it.

So what HAVE I been watching?

Severance Season 2: This was the biggest thing. Denisa and I burned through it pretty quickly, and we both really enjoyed it. I’ll admit there are times that it went a bit too far into the “What in the world?” territory, but it’s still a very interesting puzzle show in the same vein as Lost. Of course, the trick with any of those puzzle shows is they’re all about unveiling the mystery until the time comes to finally reveal the mystery. If that mystery is underwhelming, it can sink the show. But until then, it’s a really fun ride, and I’m just hoping for the best.

Dark Matter Season 1: We started this the other night, and it’s been fun so far. Alternate reality show where a guy ends up being replaced in one reality by a version of him from a different reality, and then thrown into that doppelganger’s other reality. Not sure if that makes sense, but it will once you watch it.

Amazing Race: It’s back! We watched the second episode of the new season last night. I love this show, and I always look forward to it returning. Would I go on it? Definitely not. the thought of that much travel and that much stress, and then to have all of your worst, most tired and stressed moments to be aired on national television for everyone to pick apart and discuss? No thanks. But I’ll gladly pick apart and discuss the moments of people who signed up for it.

Anyway. That’s it for now.
