The Tonys

Last night was the Tonys. (Or should that be ‘were the Tonys’? Sigh.) Don’t know if any of you out there caught them or not, but I watch the Tonys and Oscars pretty religiously. And last night was pretty okay, I suppose. On the one hand, they had microphone issues throughout the evening–especially on their opening number, where at times you couldn’t really hear what people were singing. Massive Update

Well, I’m not so sure how long this actual update will be, but I’ve got plenty to fill you all in on. Yesterday was officially the Most Effective Day Off Ever, as I got the following done: painted trim in one room, helped DKC paint the entryway, wrote (my current effort is a Groundhog Day murder mystery, watched the Bluray Pinocchio (review below), painted Lightning McQueen on TRC’s wall (my first foray into wall art–I’ll post pictures once it’s totally done), finished The Great Hunt, cleaned the garage, cleaned the interior of my car, and worked on editing a friend’s

An Awesome Movie

I finally had the chance to watch Tim Burton’s take on Sweeney Todd last night, and whoo-ee did I enjoy it. Really just a smash bang job, in my opinion. I was very favorably surprised by Depp’s singing, not to mention Bonham Carter. (Alan Rickman’s vocal chops were a tad disappointing, though.) The movie does a tremendous job of taking a musical and turning it into a film–something that many musical adaptations don’t do. They basically turn it into a film version of the musical. It’s hard for me to pinpoint the difference, but if you watch the film, maybe
