Wintry Beach

Yesterday we went off to Freeport, Maine (home of L. L. Bean) to do some exploring. Ended up going to the beach, even though the temperature was about 10 degrees (below zero with the wind chill). Actually, we had a really good time. Nothing like sliding around on ice at the beach. 🙂 In other news, I now have two reviews of my story posted on Amazon. Reviews by complete strangers, might I add. (Meaning none of you have yet to post anything.) Of course, for some reason, getting a review by a complete stranger seems much more valid to […]

Hiatus

It’s been an awfully long time since I last posted, I know. And I’m sure all of you out there have just been holding your breath, waiting–hoping–that I’d post again soon. Well, here you go. Merry Christmas. 🙂 So, what’s been happening here in Maine, you ask? For a while there, it seemed like we were just going to get snowstorm after snowstorm, with no end in sight. Funny Pictures

If you want to laugh a lot, check out these pictures of children scared to death of Santa. Poor little tykes. In other news, I have my wireless network at home completely operational and secure, so that’s good news, and I’ll begin Operation Build tonight as I foray into the great build-my-own-computer adventure. Perhaps the most important thing of note is that tomorrow is Chester Greeenwood Day. I think we all know just how great a man Chester was, and why he has a day named in his honor. We’ll be heading out for the parade, but I think I’ll

Drivers License

You know, I lived fairly close to Mexico for the past decade or so. (Close is a relative term), and there were even a few times I was just a few miles away from the border. But until this past week, I can honestly say I never went to Mexico. I can say that no more. You see, I needed a driver’s license. And to get that driver’s license, I had to go to Mexico. I’ve heard a lot about the place over the years, and I have to say it was nothing like what I expected. For one thing,

Moving to Maine

Hello all. Let me now formally announce that my family is headed Northeast. Way Northeast. We’re going up to Maine in August, where I’m going to be the Information Technology Librarian up at a small public liberal arts college. We’re very excited, and this looks like it will be a great change with lots of opportunities. I don’t have a lot of time to post right now, but I wanted to give you all a heads up. If any of you like skiing, snowmobiling, snow shoeing, ice skating, camping, kayaking, fly fishing or just about anything outdoorsy, then consider a
