Last night’s movie of choice (picked out by my son) was Ratatouille. We saw this back in the theaters when it first came out, but the experience then wasn’t exactly pleasurable. My son was still too young to watch it I suppose–there were some really intense scenes for him, and he was scared the whole movie. I’m pleased to say this time it went much better. I’d forgotten just how good this film is. There’s a reason it has a 95% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and is ranked the 120th best film on IMDB. Story, characters, conflicts, setting–it’s firing on all cylinders. I’m a big Pixar fan, and I’m happy that they managed to make nice with Disney again. It’s just been a good combination. I’m very excited for WALL-E this summer.
The weather’s lightened up here in Maine. It’s supposed to be mid-40s today. I know all the rest of you think that’s cold, but here it feels downright tropical. Maybe I’ll go for a swim . . .
