A big, hearty thank you to everyone out there who posted comments or emailed me comments.  They were all very helpful, and I think that the final draft I have of chapter one right now is much better because of them.  For example, I ended up tightening the first section a whole lot–cut it down by about a quarter, and made it much more active.  In any case, thanks again.  I’ll make sure to keep you updated should anything good come from this.  We’ll just have to see.
