Commentary and a Headache and Sundry Matters

First of all, here’s this week’s commentary on Cavern of Babel.  Up to chapter eighteen, believe it or not.

Second of all, I have a headache.

Third of all, with me out of a writing group for now, I NEED READERS.  Yes, this means YOU.  Whoever you are.  Do you want to read one of my books in rough form?  Are you willing to write down when you get bored or confused, or when you laugh or like what’s going on?  Then email me or post a comment.  I have two books right now that I’m in the process of getting ready to send out in an attempt to get published.  The first, Lesana, is in the midst of a second draft right now, and I’ll need readers for it in a couple of weeks or a month.  The second, Ichabod, only got writing grouped about a fourth of the way, so I need brave readers who can deal with real first draft material, and I need them NOW.  Reading either of these–or both–would help me a great deal, but you’d be reading for critiquing, not necessarily enjoyment.  Sound like something for you?  Then please volunteer.  Thanks.

Lost Tonight!

I don’t know about all of you, but I’m really excited for tonight’s season finale of Lost.  This probably indicates something about my psyche–as in, I’m a glutton for punishment.  I’m almost convinced that at the end of the episode, I will be in anguish because I won’t be able to find out what happens for another . . . eight months or something.  I know the show’s has its haters, but I’ve loved this season, and I’ve found it to be so intriguing and well done . . .  Anyway–we’ll see how I feel after the episode.

Oh–and I’ve posted the commentary for chapter sixteen of Cavern of Babel, which includes an excerpt from the first draft, as well as a brief discussion of how my writing process works.  Enjoy.

More Commentary!

Chapter Fifteen is up, which includes an oh-so-secret example of how Cavern of Babel was originally narrated.  How can you resist that?

In other news, I’d just like to remind you all that I wasn’t kidding about needing comments on that writing piece I put up yesterday.  I don’t care if you feel like you’re a terrible judge of literature–read it!  Tell me what you think!  Are there parts where you’re bored?  Where you laughed?  Got confused?  You don’t need to be a writer to be able to tell when you like or dislike something, or when you lose interest or are captivated.  It’s not like you can tell me “I thought this part was boring,” and I can say “No you didn’t.”  It’s your opinion, and you’re entitled to it.  So tell me what you think–PLEASE!

Another Cavern of Babel Commentary

Chapter Fourteen is up.

Not much else going on, really.  My Warlock on Nathrezim is up to level 30, and that feels like a nice accomplishment–which it really ought not to, I suppose.  Oh well–if nothing’s going on in your real life, at least something can be going on in the one where you’re an undead master of demons.  😉

Cavern of Babel on Amazon

That’s right–it’s official. We’ve joined the ranks of Amazon. So for all you peoples out there who have been waiting for the right time to buy the book for all your friends and relations, you can now buy to your heart’s content. Just search for Cavern of Babel. (Of course, if you email me, I might be able to cut you a better deal than Amazon.)

In other news, I found out today that university library jobs take a looooong time to make hiring decisions. I read an article about how it can regularly be six months–and a year isn’t out of the question. Sigh. I guess I should be more patient. That’s all I have time for for now. Bye.
