Rewrite

So the time’s about here for me to start on the rewrite of Lesana.  A couple of hours ago, I was dreading it.  There was just so much to be done to the book.  But you know what?  I just got finished reading pieces of it as I was organizing my notes for the rewrite, and I discovered something: I’m excited. The thing is, I like the book.  Even with all the flaws it has right now, I can still see what it’s capable of becoming, and I’m sure I can make a book I’m happy with out of it.  […]

My Thesis

My wife suggested that I post my Masters Thesis to my website, and since it’s catch-all Friday, I figured why not.  So for all of you out there who have always wondered why you’ve never watched a really good Huckleberry Finn adaptation–or those of you who just want to know more about the theory behind adaptation–this is your lucky day.  Over 150 pages of pure bliss for you.  The rest of you . . . you’ll just have to wait with baited breath for a new Grumpy Old Vampires next Monday.  Sorry. Campbell Hero Outline

Over at brycemoore.com, I just posted one of my secret weapons that got me through my undergraduate years at BYU in the English program. It’s a little thing I call the Campbell Hero Outline. If you need to write a paper fast, and you’ve been reading practically any books in that class, then you can use this to help you get done quickly. Just analyze the book according to this structuralist theory (quote, citations and reference are provided by the outline, all in MLA format for your typing pleasure). Better yet, you’ll be writing your own unique paper with your

Stress

So I figured out today that in order to finish all my papers by the end of the semester without binge writing right at the last minute, I need to write 2 pages a day for the next 7 weeks. That pretty much sucks. Add to that the fact that the current book I’m workshopping needs some major help, and I’m feeling rather blue. There’s just so much going on right now. If I can get through the next 7 weeks, things ought to get a lot better. I know I should just look on the bright side: I’ve still

The First Crusade for Dummies

Gasp!  I just realized that I didn’t post anything yesterday.  I fail as a blogger.  Oh well–give me a second to get over it. All better now.  It’s not like all that much happened yesterday, anyway.  I mean, I watched Rush Hour 2 in the evening–how exciting of a day could it have been? I just posted another paper I wrote back in college, this one about the military tactics used by the First Crusaders to capture Jerusalem.  If you’re looking for something basic (it was written by Freshman-Me, after all), and are interested in military history, by all means,
