I’ve Started a Library Blog

It’s official, folks. The new blog has begun. In between catching up on (most) emails and hauling chairs around the library today (20 new chairs arrived sort of unexpectedly, and it took a while to get them all sorted out, since the chairs they were replacing were going elsewhere in the building, and those chairs in turn were also going other places), I wrote the first post today, detailing what the blog is and what it will cover. For those of you interested, head on over to Browsing Room to check it out. I expect there will be some bleed […]

Help Me Name My New Library Blog

Because I clearly have so much free time on my hands, I’ve decided to start a second blog–this one more work related. Yes, folks–that’s right. Vocal Chord Stress

My voice is killing me. I’ve used it far too much over the past week or so. Usually this is due to me going to sporting events and yelling myself silly. Ravings

You know, I’ve had my subtitle of this blog from the very beginning: “Ravings of a Semi-Coherent Mind.” But you know what? I’ve posted practically no raving at all. I mean, if you don’t count my usual discussion about my life, which might qualify as “rambling” from time to time, but not raving. That’s not because I don’t have things to rave about, but rather because I’ve been too lazy to consistently post my opinion up here. I’ve decided I want to do something about that. In the immortal words of Frank Costanza (father of George) in the Seinfeld Festivus

Pleasant Weather

Today was a very pleasant day, both at the conference and at the interview. I enjoyed meeting with people in person at last, after so many bouts of phone interviews. I feel like I can express myself better in person than on the phone, so it’s nice to connect faces to voices. Additionally, I lined up several in person interviews at the conference for tomorrow and Sunday. On a good-to-remember sidenote, I was reminded that what I say on the blog doesn’t always stay on the blog today when one of the interviewers mentioned that she had read my blog
