It’s true: I’m back. And I’m now caught up with blogs, more or less caught up with emails (still around 15 in my work email and 30 in my personal) and more or less unpacked. Of course, I’ve fallen behind on decluttering, and I have a ton to do around the house still, and don’t get me started on that whole diet thing. (Note to self: a week of driving across the country, eating to stay occupied and awake, doth not a successful diet make.)
And in the middle of all of this, I haven’t blogged in weeks. There’s a ton I could write about: the trip, movies watched, Buffy season 5, TRC starting first grade next week, TRC reading over 200 books this summer(!)–you name it. I’ve got lots to talk about. So what am I going to do about it?
Nothing.
If I start trying to play catch up on this blog, I’ll get way too stressed about it, way too fast. It’s likely I’ll get around to posting some odds and ends as I catch up over time, but I’ve found that the best way to get on top of a long overdue assignment is to NOT try and get on top of it. Essentially, you give yourself a “Get Out of Jail Free” card for whatever it was you were supposed to do, and then approach it fresh. Otherwise, it’s too easy to be overwhelmed and just not start work at all.
At least, that’s how it is for me.
So here it is: my blog post for the day. I’m officially back, and you can expect daily blog posts once again. It’s nice to be back, by the way. A very fun vacation. Check my facebook page for pics, if you missed ’em.
